Welcome to Beanthentic. We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of information shared by registered coffee farmers and authorized stakeholders. This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, store, and safeguard data within our mobile farmer application, profiling services, QR-based traceability features, and related systems operated for Lipa City coffee farmers.

1. Information We Collect

To support farmer registration, profiling, and Geographical Indication (GI) readiness assessment, we may collect:

• Account & profile data: Name, contact details, login credentials, and farm location linked to your farmer account.
• Farm & agricultural data: Farm size, coffee variety (e.g., Kapeng Barako), elevation, production records, and farming practices you submit in the app.
• Registration & transaction records: Harvest, sale, and related entries you save in Beanthentic, including history used for traceability.
• QR & Client Web data: Unique QR codes and profile links generated for your account so authorized viewers can open your farmer profile on the Client Web system when permitted.
• Messages & notifications: In-app alerts about account status, records, GI updates, security events, and messages sent to your account—visible only to your logged-in user.
• Device & app preferences: Language, theme, notification toggles, software-update settings, and similar choices stored on your device (e.g., local storage) to personalize the app.

2. How We Use Your Information

Data collected through Beanthentic is used strictly to:

• Operate your farmer account and secure access to app features.
• Automate profiling and assess whether farm data suggests readiness for regional GI standards.
• Maintain organized farmer records for Lipa City and surrounding areas to support the local coffee industry.
• Deliver QR-based identification, Client Web profile viewing, and traceability linked to your registration data.
• Send account-specific notifications (e.g., pending records, GI progress, admin messages) only to your user account.
• Improve system accuracy, including machine-learning profiling models and scheduled software updates (checked every six months on your device when auto-update is enabled).

Note: Beanthentic is a profiling and support tool. It does not issue official GI certifications, digital or printed. Its purpose is to help gather and organize data to support regional GI application and industry programs.

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell or rent personal information. Data may be shared only with authorized local government units, agricultural organizations, or project personnel when needed to support regional coffee initiatives, GI readiness programs, or lawful academic and capstone research under Beanthentic. QR or Client Web links may expose limited profile information to persons who scan your code or open your published profile URL—only share QR codes when you agree to that visibility.

4. Data Security

We apply technical and organizational safeguards to reduce unauthorized access, loss, or alteration of data, including restricted database access, account-based notification filtering, and secure handling of credentials. No system is completely risk-free; please use a strong password and keep your device secure.

5. Your Rights

Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012, you may:

• Access and review personal and profiled information tied to your account.
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Ask how automated profiling or eligibility indicators are produced.
• Raise concerns about misuse of your data or unwanted sharing of your QR/profile link.

6. Retention and Local Storage

Server-side records are kept only as long as needed for registration, profiling, traceability, and project requirements. Some preferences (language, theme, update settings) may remain on your phone until you clear app data or uninstall the app.
